Al Sullivan - (Instructor)
Al Sullivan didn't start training seriously in the martial arts until he was 35 years old. He began his training in the traditional Japanese art of Aikido, eventually achieving the rank of Shodan (black belt). He became frustrated with the limitations of that art, and began to search for another more complete system of self defense. 4 years ago, he found Krav Maga. It only took one class for him to realize this was the system he had been looking for.
"I learned more practical self defense in the first 3 months I was a student, than in the entire 8 years that I studied Aikido. In traditional arts, you are always training under the perfect conditions. In Krav Maga we always train from a position of disadvantage so that we know our system will work when the s**t hits the fans. I love the fact that the way the system is taught helps the beginner learn practical skills that can save their life from the very first class".
Al is one of only a handful of Black Belt Krav Maga instructors in Colorado.
Michael Honaker - (Instructor)
Michael started an intense Krav Maga training program with James Hiromasa in 2004, at the Colorado Krav Maga Regional Training Center where he earned his black belt in 2012. Michael has participated in many seminars conducted by the high ranking Krav Maga instructors such as James Hiromasa, John Whitman, Darren Levine, Kelly Campbell, and others. In addition to Krav Maga, Michael has trained in Shorin-Ryu Karate, and Kobudo, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, BJJ, and Muay Thai kickboxing.
Mike is one of only a handful of Black Belt Krav Maga instructors in Colorado.
Abby Rupsa - (Instructor)
Abby comes from a dance background and has been a Krav Maga Fitness/Conditioning instructor since 2009. “Krav Maga is the fastest, most thorough way to get in shape and learn the fundamentals of self-defense all while in a fun environment. It’s great to use your brain while you work out! Lifting weights or running on a treadmill at the gym might get you in shape, but it doesn’t give you any skills that will serve you well in the real world. In my classes, I get your butt in gear and keep your body guessing through dynamic strength, aerobic and core exercises and help you perfect your striking/fighting technique. As a woman, it feels very comforting and empowering to know that I can utilize my training skills to protect both myself and my kids.”
